ESAB IS CENTRAL TO DISTRIBUTOR’S EXPANSION PLANS

One of ESAB’s network of specialist distributors is in the process of expanding its business through diversifying into new activities, as well as moving into larger premises.

Oldham-based Complete Welding has been serving a diverse customer base across the north-west since it was set up by Craig Evans in 2001. The firm has now transferred staff to a purpose built property in Drury Lane, extending to more than 500 square metres on two floors, while maintaining its Duckinfield depot.

From the new Oldham facility the ESAB stockist is providing sales, repairs, servicing and support for clients undertaking work in engineering, construction, the garage trade and other sectors. Complete Welding’s level of expertise even extends to building robot cells, with ESAB providing back up at all levels.

Craig Evans comments saying: “The business has grown strongly since we started: building a reputation for refurbishment work as well as selling new equipment. We are also seeing a big increase in demand for the ESAB personal protection kit, while we stock all of their wire and other consumables; and we do a big trade in industrial gases.

“Further to this we also undertake a lot of manufacturing for customers – at present we are building a cell with two robots to fabricate stainless steel tanks. So we needed bigger premises and the move to Drury Lane has given us space for a far bigger trade counter, while the rest of the ground floor is taken up with the stores and workshop. Upstairs is given over to the offices.

“Already we are seeing business at the trade counter up ten-fold and with ESAB’s help and support we are expecting to go from strength to strength.”
