GEARTRODES CUSTOMERS GET ON THE ESAB BUS

The ESAB Demobus paid a visit to Geartrodes (South Wales) Ltd in Port Talbot recently.  "The idea was to get us associated with the ESAB brand, to generate sales and to get customers back to our premises here to see what we have to offer," said Kevin Williams Geartrodes Sales Manager.  

The bus contained a range of ESAB welding and cutting machinery, personal protection equipment and accessories.  

Customers had been leafleted and targeted by word of mouth in advance and they all seemed to know that the Demobus was going to be here on the day.  

"The weather was fine," said Kevin Williams. "It was a good day and we laid on refreshments including a barbecue.  

"We estimate that between 80 and 100 customers turned up to have a look and the ones who came were there because they wanted to see what Geartrodes and ESAB had to offer together.  

"Our customers were quite impressed with what was available on the day. We had some sales on the day then and there, plus more later so it was definitely a success for us.                                  

"There was a lot of hard work involved setting it all up, but the customers told us that it was a good thing to do. You can't measure the results straight away. It's further down the line when some people associate you with ESAB and that was part of it for us.  

"The plan all the way along the line, as soon as we started looking at the Demobus, was to use it to enable the company to become more associated with the ESAB brand and it was definitely successful on that front."
