ESAB friction Stir welding machine in Norway
ESAB SuperStir™ installed at Marine Aluminium Aanensen & Co. AS
This ESAB SuperStir™ is designed mainly for manufacturing of panels for ships and railway waggons, but can also be used for other parts.
Maximum panel dimension is 16 x 6 meters.
Aluminium alloys from 1.6 – 15 mm are weldable in one run.
The plant is complete with in-feeding and out-feeding facilities.
The welding operation is fully automatic and all parameters can be registrated in the easy to use Man Machine Interface.
The plant was installed and production started in the autumn of 1996. It has produced more than 150 000 meters of welds without one fault of any kind between 1996-1999.
