ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY (EHS)
As a world leading manufacturer of welding consumables, welding equipment, and cutting systems, we shall, in all our operations: - Continuously improve our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance by conserving natural resources, preventing pollution and providing safe workplaces and products.
- Ensure that our facilities and products meet or exceed applicable governmental requirements and ESAB standards.
- Use a life cycle approach in our efforts to minimize the EHS impact of our products and services, from the extraction of raw materials to product end of life.
- Educate, motivate and engage our employees to contribute to our EHS commitment and to comply with this policy.
- Encourage our contractors, suppliers and consultants to adhere to the same standards we do.
- Openly communicate our EHS performance and participate in external initiatives that improve our knowledge and performance.
- Ensure prompt reporting of any incidents, adequate monitoring and measurement of our EHS performance and regularly provide assurance that our processes and management systems are working effectively
SOCIAL POLICY
ESAB’s long-term profitability depends on our ability to continuously improve our economic, social and environmental performance. It is therefore essential for ESAB to uphold high ethical standards in all our operations and at the same time recognize and honor local and cultural differences. These are our social guidelines:
- We shall, in all our operations, support human rights and follow the UN Convention of Human Rights. We will ensure that there is no forced or child labor. We expect all our suppliers and contractors to follow the same rules.
- We believe that a diversified work force is beneficial for our business and we will actively prevent any discrimination due to disability, race, gender, age, cultural, religious, sexual or political reasons.
- Competence is a core value for ESAB and we must ensure employee development and encourage employee initiatives and ideas. We will actively work to increase the social and ethical awareness of all our employees.
- There will always be a risk of redundancies due to market and financial pressure. ESAB should always try to minimize the social consequences for employees and the communities in which we operate.
- We are committed to minimize any hazards relating to the production and use of our products for both employees and customers.
- We shall develop systems to monitor and audit our social and ethical behavior. We must ensure that our facilities, working environments and employment practices reflect good citizenship and at a minimum, complies with applicable legal requirements and ESAB standards.
We recognize our social responsibilities and we are committed to be, and be recognized as, good citizens wherever we operate. Our relationships with our main stakeholders are a core value for ESAB.
